A year gone by.. A year to come

A mixed beginning to the 2nd semester as well as 2011 and this perhaps calls for a new blog in the new year.  Looking back I must say that 2010 has been quite eventful to me. The year started off with a whole bunch of friends jumping into the marriage pool. A couple of classmates and seniors from grad school, friends from pre uni days were all a part of this team.  Four girls out of the five in my group, minus me of course, are now tagged ' married' and that does mean that I am the only one left. Pretty hard to digest it, isnt it? Thoughts and visuals of Pre-Uni fun days ( along with lots of nerdy moments ofcourse), the canteen moments, running out of classes for samosas, the Rs 5 softies, the endless money we donated to cafe coffee day..etc etc flash through my mind. Then came a time when we really got serious, finished engineering, a few went on to do post grad, some sat down to work.. basically trying to carve a niche and  shape up our very enthusiastic careers amids...

The beatitude bit of my life..

Last night, before I went to bed, I was randomly thinking of things that put me in state of blissful ecstasy. I felt 50 would be a good count. Nevertheless, I had to stop at 17 since the cerebrum inside my big but narrow skull, just refused to work beyond this point. So, here goes the list. 1) Rains - A cool and a mild drizzle to heavy thunderstorms (haven't seen anything more intense), rains are simply wonderful- anywhere and everywhere. 2) Desserts - Apple crumbles, raspberry tarts , soufflé (specially tender coconut) , Mousse,Custards, Thiramisu... I love them all..They definitely make the best "meals" ...slurrrrrrrrrrp. 3) A Swim - In the pool, ponds, lakes, rivers, oceans...all I need is water.. if the skies are dark and gloomy... nothing like it. 4) Coffee - Ahh!! God bless the men/women or simply the man/woman who discovered this wonderful aromatic drink. From the Caribbean , all the way to Africa and South east Asia, and of course not to forget our very own India...

A Secret to Life

A brilliant book. Wonder why I took so long to read it. This book only deepened my interest in philisophy. On the whole, it gives you an amazing 'gyan' to optimism and positive thinking. A total Name it- Claim it types, this book definitely has all the teachings that have been passed on by our forefathers. However, in the present day world where people are being kablooyed under stress, learning the 'Secret' is definitely apprises the fact that we humans are a form of 'god'. We do have certain powers to attract. If we sustain the right thoughts, words, and feelings, we can receive whatever we want. All said, this book is indeed a worthy read. I'm now waiting to see the movie. More in a while... Cheers!
