Architects and Prostitutes... :P

I read this bit of info on a blog  and it just had to catch my attention. Come to think about it , I realised that this is the second time I have seen "architects" and "prostitutes" sharing the blogspace ( if I can say that)... The first one I read was titled, 'Why Architects Drink' and started off with the sentence " the only people who look up at ceilings are architects and prostitutes"... hmmmm!! Excuse Moi!! There are several non- architects and non-  prostitutes who also look at ceilings...Errr when you walk into a space that appeals to you, looking around including the ceiling is obvious isn;t it.. you want to perceive the space around you.. Even boredom makes you take at least one glance at the ceiling. Its all about how inquisitive you are.
Coming back to the info I wanted to actually tell you about, I just put it down as it is !! I would definitely want to know what the architecture fraternity has to say about it.. and the non architecture community as well!!
Whenever you see the word “Client” in something to do with building, you know there just has to be an architect involved because no one else in the building game ever refers to anyone as “clients.” It is such a strange word, isn’t it? In a shop you are a customer, on a train you are a passenger, in a hospital you are a patient, in a class you are a student, in the economy at large you’d be a consumer. But client? The only people who have clients are lawyers, architects and prostitutes, all of whom have to live with the reputation that they are simply out to screw you. Only the prostitute is honest about it.”

 Pen down your thoughts !!

Cheers!

I am almost always looking at the ceiling at home. Looking for spiders and their icky cobwebs. So that makes me paranoid, not an architect nor a prostitute.
What nonsense! Everyone uses the word "client" - engineers, bankers, even people with bad English!
So there!

Quarter Life crisis

An interesting article I came across for all of us who have just completed a quarter*  of our lives. I am copy-pasting the article as it is. A leverage of +/- 2 years is granted ;) (* I am trying to be optimistic in assuming that  all of us are sure of a full 100 years on this planet.) So here it goes... " Being a twenty-something It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.  You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or i...

Life teachings

A very well written quote that I read a couple of days back. “Not everything is supposed to become something beautiful and long-lasting. Sometimes people come into your life to show you what is right and what is wrong, to show you who you can be, to teach you to love yourself, to make you feel better for a little while, or to just be someone to walk with at night and spill your life to. Not everyone is going to stay forever, and we still have to keep on going and thank them for what they’ve given us.” — Emery Allen It is humility to forgive people who have caused pain to you, but in reality they've taught you a very valuable lesson. When I look back at every "bad" incident that has happened to me in my life, I feel good.  A formula that I always believe in- Whatever happens is for the good!

Asli Swaad Zindagi Ka!!

I was talking to a friend last night about chocolates and that did remind of something that I had forgotten in months, CADBURY'S DAIRY MILK. Apart from the immense craving that I developed post that conversation, I also ended digging up some nostalgic ads that only contributed to its increase .... So here are some of my favourite Dairy Milk Ads.. I might have missed out a few, but for now "Enjoy maadi"!! My fav  and perhaps the best one of the lot: More ... And amongst the new ones.. I did like this one So..  Mesdemoiselles et  Messieurs .. amusez vous et vous voir la prochaine fois!! ( Ladies & Gentlemen, Enjoy yourselves and see you next time).
